The role of technology simply can not be separated from mankind in various aspects. Especially in the era of globalization, all the things that are never predicted to be happen but then it becomes a very common thing to be found all around us. Technological development which has growing rapidly is the main cause.

The technology that was originally only intended to facilitate human work is now almost able to replace a direct role in the man himself doing odd jobs. Of course, this brings multiple benefits to humans than if we do not exploit the use of these technologies. Adding all above it, is the biotechnology revolution, which became one of terrifying weapons ever created on earth.

Biotechnology is a branch of biology that studies on the use of living beings so as to produce goods or services for the benefit of human life. In other words, biotechnology utilizing the technology applied to living organisms to produce a product that is useful for humans.

You’ve heard the term ‘cloning’ or ‘engineering’ gene, is not it? What about in vitro fertilization IVF alias? It was quite familiar with our ears aren’t we.

It’s not an impossible thing for farmers to decide for themselves the character of desired plants. Biotechnology allows them to get a fruit or vegetable with superior properties. So also in the affairs of human health, for example, when Alexander Fleming discovered organisms that can inhibit bacterial growth. The organism is ultimately used as penicillin to treat wounded soldiers on the battlefield. In addition, biotechnology can be harnessed to help people with diabetes through the creation of the hormone insulin by recombinant DNA. Many more examples of the use of modern biotechnology, so it can be called technological advances in health can save thousands of lives.

Biological weapons are weapons that use biological agents such as bacterial or viral germs that cause illness and death in humans. This method is used so that the enemy in war can be disabled instantly. Indeed, this germ is obtained naturally. However, with the help of biotechnological sophistication of today, the germs can be modified in such a way and become immune or resistant to existing treatments, so its ability to cause disease can be improved. In addition, modifications to the structure of DNA germs are also made to add strength in order to spread more easily spread to the environment either through the intermediary of media air, water, or food.

Some biological agents are ever used in warfare in world history is Bacillus anthracis which causes anthrax disease, Vibrio cholerae causes cholera, and Clostridium botullinum cause food poisoning.

Biological weapons are one form of the use of biotechnology that has been misused by certain parties to gain advantage in the midst of another person’s loss. In such warfare, this weapon will not only cripple the enemy, the people around who do not understand anything about the war will also receive the effects, given the far reach of a biological agent that can infect them. Bioterrorism tend to be bad even compared to the use of other weapons because it is not detected this. Although the parties who have mutated genes in these biological agents must already have a vaccine or antidote for the diseases that may arise, but the reality is not that easy to clean plague that has spread.

Talking about the plague, weapon development, and many other biotechnology revolution both facts and rumors you could get the resource in the internet, if you’d like information with visual, of course you could get it in some website such as YouTube. For you who like to save the information, especially if you have Mac computer, you could use some help from YouTube downloader to convert and save the file into many different of file types.

Anyway, these biological weapons are now not allowed by the UN, and they really monitoring any activities relating to it. Hopefully they kept doing it until its gone, considering its impact to human lives.

The latest technology even able to develop unmanned war machine.

Talking about strategy and defense, lets have a look at US war technology. The latest info receive, the U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that the United States will use one of their most advanced war technology in Libya. As we know, the aircraft fleet predators are controlled, unmanned warfare. Future war machine model has been developed here for 50 years. Here are 5 lists unmanned war machines belong to the United States:

1. MQ-9 Reaper (Predator B)
Reaper is the best development of the Predator series belongs to the United States. This unmanned aircraft capable of carrying the load 15 times as much and has a speed three times faster than any other predator series. Reaper-propagating laser-guided bombs and hellfire missiles against targets on land, with deadly precision. Technically, this predator is able to face his fellow war planes in the air. Reaper is also capable of transporting 1.5 tons of payload and fly at the height of 52 thousand feet for 36 hours.

2. Predator C (Avenger)
Avenger is an unmanned aircraft developed by General Atomic Aeronautical System for the United States. Predator C is equipped jet engines and is designed to go undetected by radar.
The plane was first flown on April 4, 2009 is equipped with the same weapons with Reaper. Avenger is also equipped with Lynx and Alert system is capable of recording images with very high resolution to identify areas of the enemy.

3. X-45 UCAV
Boeing decided to develop an unmanned fighter aircraft technology is really new. Armament is expected to fly by itself, capable of chasing the target with deadly speed, maneuver and are equipped with weaponry. Even more frightening, the aircraft is capable of communicating with each other to determine the best way to destroy a target. When the one attacked, the other planes will protect it. This aircraft can be refueled in space independently. Fighter project was first disclosed by Boeing in May 2009. The aircraft was known as the Phantom Ray can fly at mach 0.85 40 thousand feet and carrying 2.5 tons of ammunition.

4. X-47B Pegasus
Northrup Grumman and the U.S. Navy does not want to miss from the development of unmanned aircraft. Pegasus which is a cousin of the X-45 was created to bring supplies and drop it on targets that have been determined automatically. X-47B Pegasus able to achieve the same speed as the X-45. Pegasus can also land and take off in the ocean. Not only that, these aircraft can also refuel at sea.

5. Gladiator
Gladiator is a tactical vehicle that can go anywhere. The ability of these vehicles are prioritized for reconnaissance, survey, and attack targets. Unmanned vehicle also serves to drop ammunition for the U.S. Navy. The main function of this vehicle is to overcome the situation involving nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.
The image of gladiator you could found above, at the beginning of this article.

From 1980 to 1983, a man named Eldon Byrd ran the Marine Corps Nonlethal Electromagnetic Weapons project. He conducted most of his research at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute in Bethesda, Md. “We were looking at electrical activity in the brain and how to influence it,” he says. Byrd, a specialist in medical engineering and bioeffects, funded small research projects, including a paper on vortex weapons by Obolensky. He conducted experiments on animals–and even on himself–to see if brain waves would move into sync with waves impinging on them from the outside. (He found that they would, but the effect was short lived.)

By using very low frequency electromagnetic radiation–the waves way below radio frequencies on the electromagnetic spectrum–he found he could induce the brain to release behavior-regulating chemicals. “We could put animals into a stupor,” he says, by hitting them with these frequencies. “We got chick brains–in vitro–to dump 80 percent of the natural opioids in their brains,” Byrd says. He even ran a small project that used magnetic fields to cause certain brain cells in rats to release histamine. In humans, this would cause instant flulike symptoms and produce nausea. “These fields were extremely weak. They were undetectable,” says Byrd. “The effects were nonlethal and reversible. You could disable a person temporarily,” Byrd hypothesizes. “It [would have been] like a stun gun.”

Byrd never tested any of his hardware in the field, and his program, scheduled for four years, apparently was closed down after two, he says. “The work was really outstanding,” he grumbles. “We would have had a weapon in one year.” Byrd says he was told his work would be unclassified, “unless it works.” Because it worked, he suspects that the program “went black.” Other scientists tell similar tales of research on electromagnetic radiation turning top secret once successful results were achieved. There are clues that such work is continuing. In 1995, the annual meeting of four-star U.S. Air Force generals–called CORONA–reviewed more than 1,000 potential projects. One was called “Put the Enemy to Sleep/Keep the Enemy From Sleeping.” It called for exploring “acoustics,” “microwaves,” and “brain-wave manipulation” to
alter sleep patterns. It was one of only three projects approved for initial investigation.

The Soviets were known to have potent blinding lasers. They were also feared to have developed acoustic and radio-wave weapons. The 1987 issue of Soviet Military Power, a cold war Pentagon publication, warned that the Soviets might be close to “a prototype short-range tactical RF [radio frequency] weapon.” The Washington Post reported that year that the Soviets had used such weapons to kill goats at 1 kilometer’s range.
The Pentagon, it turns out, has been pursuing similar devices since the 1960s.

Typical of some of the more exotic proposals are those from Clay Easterly. Last December, Easterly–who works at the Health Sciences Research Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory briefed the Marine Corps on work he had conducted for the National Institute of Justice, which does research on crime control. One of the projects he suggested was an electromagnetic gun that would “induce epilepticlike seizures.” Another was a “thermal gun [that] would have the operational effect of heating the body to 105 to 107″ degrees Fahrenheit. Such effects would bring on discomfort, fevers, or even death.

But, unlike the work on blinding lasers and acoustic weapons, progress here has been slow. The biggest problem is power. High-powered microwaves intended to heat someone standing 200 yards away to 105 degrees Fahrenheit may kill someone standing 10 yards away. On the other hand, electromagnetic fields weaken quickly with distance from the source. And beams of such energy are difficult to direct to their target. Mission Research Corp. of Albuquerque, N.M., has used a computer model to study the ability of microwaves to stimulate the body’s peripheral nervous system. “If sufficient peripheral nerves fire, then the body shuts down to further stimulus, producing the so-called stun effect,” an abstract states. But, it concludes, “the ranges at which this can be done are only a few meters.”

Nonetheless, government laboratories and private contractors are pursuing numerous similar programs. A 1996 Air Force Scientific Advisory Board report on future weapons, for instance, includes a classified section on a radio frequency or “RF Gunship.” Other military documents confirm that radio-frequency antipersonnel weapons programs are underway. And the Air Force’s Armstrong Laboratory at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas is heavily engaged in such research. According to budget documents, the lab intends to spend more than $110 million over the next six years “to exploit less-than-lethal biological effects of electromagnetic radiation for Air Force security, peacekeeping, and war-fighting operations.”

The MiG-27 FLOGGER, MiG-29 FULCRUM, and MiG-31 FOXHOUND were the most capable Soviet fighter aircraft during the 1970s and 1980s.

The MiG-27 FLOGGER, MiG-29 FULCRUM, and MiG-31 FOXHOUND were some of the most effective Soviet fighter aircraft built during the Cold War era. The Soviet Air Force began searching for a replacement of its MiG-21, MiG-23, and MiG-25 combat aircraft. By the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Soviet Air Force developed a new generation of multirole fighter and interceptor aircraft. These new combat aircraft have proliferated worldwide during the Cold War era.

MiG-27 FLOGGER
The Mikoyan MiG-27 FLOGGER is an advanced ground-attack fighter aircraft. It was designed to replace the MiG-21 and MiG-23 combat aircraft. The warplane became the primary fighter aircraft for the Union of Socialist Soviet Republic’s (USSR) tactical air forces. This combat aircraft is still flown by all former Warsaw Pact Air Forces, although it is being replaced by more modern and capable fighter aircraft. Many MiG-27 FLOGGER aircraft serve in an advance fighter role, and are configured for high performance with modest weapons load.

The MiG-27 FLOGGER was a more advanced version of the MiG-23 fighter aircraft. The aircraft was designed for dedicated ground-attack missions and it is optimized for operations over different battlefields. The most significant difference is the aircraft’s nose, which was designed to give the pilot an enhanced visual perspective of the ground during combat. This fighter aircraft entered service during the late 1970s. Its maximum speed is about 1,885 kilometers per hour; it reaches altitudes of 14,000 meters; its combat radius is 540 kilometers; it is armed with one 23 millimeter cannon and it has provision for up to 4,000 kilograms of weapons store.

MiG-29 FULCRUM
The Mikoyan MiG-29 FULCRUM is an advanced multirole fighter aircraft. During the mid 1980s, the MiG-29 fighters were first identified by Western aircraft analysts when a squadron from Kubinka Airbase visited Finland’s Kuopio-Rissala Airbase. Its maximum speed equals 2,443 kilometers per hour; it reaches altitudes of 17,000 meters; its range with fuel tanks equals 1,500 kilometers. It is armed with one 30 millimeter cannon carrying 150 rounds of firepower; it has eight external hard-points with provision for up to 4,500 kilograms.

MiG-31 FOXHOUND
The Mikoyan MiG-31 FOXHOUND was developed during the 1970s from the MiG-25 FOXBAT multirole fighter to counter the growing threat of low-flying cruise missiles and bombers. The FOXHOUND was a significant improvement over its older FOXBAT version because it was equipped with tandem seat cockpit, infrared (IR) tracking heat sensors, and a pulse-Doppler radar system which provide the fire-and-forget engagement capability. Its maximum speed equals 3,000 kilometers per hour; it can reach altitudes of 20,600 meters; its combat radius is 1,400 kilometers; it is armed with one 23 millimeter cannon, and it can carry provisions for missiles, ECM pods, or drop tanks.
